I was hoping to bring my 600D on holiday - is this really a problem nowadays? It's a fairly small camera bag (backpack design) as I only tend to take the body, 2 lenses, 430 flash gun and a few filters - the tripod can go in my luggage.

I've not tried it myself, and I'm not sure travelling to Turkey with one would be quite as easy as the US, but it does demonstrate the lengths that people will go to in order to get around airline rules.
