HI

This is taken from Manchester Airport website

Where can I smoke at Manchester Airport?

Smoking areas are available outside all three terminal buildings and are clearly signposted. Manchester Airport is currently looking at the viability of providing smoking areas after security and we are pleased to announce that the first, in T2 is due to open in September, airside smoking areas for T1 and T3 will continue to be investigated.

Hope it helps

They are looking to provide smoking areas after security and the first, in T2 is due to open in September (don't know what date, sorry), airside smoking areas for T1 and T3 will continue to be investigated.

They are starting month-long trial on October 1st to ban smoking in any area other than in the Bar Des Voyagers and within an area sectioned-off in the departure lounge that will have floor-to-ceiling glass panels.

Wish they would do that in Edinburgh, I'm usually left on my own for so long whilst my other half is outside having multiple ciggies.

Does anyone know if glasgow has a smoking room? Don't think they had one in June. It's quite a long time to go without a smoke once passed security.
Thanks

Glasgow definitely don't.

we normally hold off as long as poss before going through to departures (i.e through security) normally when the screens are advising you to go to the gate.

the only problem with that though is now they have changed the layout of the airport and whereas before the majority of the shops were before passport control, they are now after, so if you are going to leave going through to the departure lounge till later, you won't have much time for shopping.

I flew to Spain last Tuesday and I can confirm that a smoking area has opened in Terminal 1, it's not sign posted from the main departure area, you need to go up the escalator to the Giraffe restaurant, you will then see the signs, these route you down a corridor to an outside area on the roof, it's meshed in but you get a good view of the Terminal 2 apron.

There are no smoking areas in Terminal 3 at Manchester, I also heard that there won't be as most flights are for business and not holidays, why this makes a difference I don't know.
