Postby barney1uk » 19 May 2010 16:42

My better half would like to know.......... does her handbag count as hand luggage or can she take her hand luggage and her handbag? :)

As a layydeee myself, my other half takes her handbag AND hand luggage, she only got stopped once so simply put her handbag on top of her hand luggae and it was fine... :)

When we where going from Glasgow last year everyone was getting stopped for 2 pieces of hand luggage, so they were just putting the hand bag in with the hand luggage case until they left the check-in desk.

Depends on the airline - some insist on only ONE piece of hand luggage and are really strict about it. We saw this on one flight, where people were having to try to cram handbags into other bags, etc. One man was even trying to cram his laptop into his other bag.

as blondie says it completely depends on the airline
check with the airline your travelling with and im sure it will say if your handbag is extra cause some airlines class it as your hand luggage and dont let you take both
hope this helps

I have a flight bag which is huge, so no need for a handbag, but when I did use different hand luggage, I just put my handbag inside until I was checked in.

I don't have handbags but Erik i wanna see yours :D :D I think the best bet would be board with the handbag in the hand luggage then take the handbag out once you are on board. My pockets are my handbag :D :D

I usually pack a small handbag in with my hold luggage then put any essential items in the pockets of my large bag that I use as hand luggage.Tina
