The Lemon Tree

Postby Lynn m » 07 Jun 2006 09:34

Hi Folks

This place has just opened this year and is well worth a visit.

It is run by 4 brothers one of them was the front man at Chef last year

If you go to the top of the canal and keep going straight up past the Devamli its on the right hand side.

Their Turkish bread is about 2 feet long.

Enjoy

Lynn

Hi Gene

Did you try the Lemon Tree while you were there? I thought the food was lovely.

I felt sorry for the staff while we were there a table of 8 Dutch people ordered all the most expensive food over £200 worth the credit card they used was rejected and then everyone of the said they had no money, for a new restaurant to lose that kind of money was sad thats a month wages for them. We were leaving the next day so dont know if they did get their money in the end. Apparently they had done the same thing in another place a few days before how can people do things like that.

Lynn thats terrible, I always check the bill and if there is something I HAVEN'T been charged for I make a point of telling them.

There must have been something they could have done

Hi Colette

The guy went back to their hotel with them but they still said they had no money. We will have to wait until Sept to find out what happened.

Thats not all the story I just got bored typing When we received our bill it was about 94ytl which I thought was a bit steep for just 2 Main courses and 2 juices. I was ill that night due to to much sun hence not much food and no alcohol. We had received that wrong bill ours should have only been about 50ytl so some lucky B who had wine starters and sweets only paid for what we had so the restaurant lost another 50 ytl that night too.

They could'nt have been more apologetic for the mistake they had made to us and we just felt that bad that they had lost money again.

I always make a point in telling people to CHECK THEIR BILLS
always match the receipt with the items you have eaten and drank.

In bars of an evening be on your guard as you are at your most vunerable when you have had a few drinks,I always make a note of what we have all drank that way you get no nasty surprises, because believe me some bars will try it on.
Forewarned is forearmed do not think that overcharging doesnt go on, just be prepared.

The Lemon Tree

Hi All
I've heard great reviews about this restaurant and can't wait to try it. Great food, live music and entertainment all at a reasonable price. What more can you want.
My family have been in Icmeler for the last four weeks and have become regular visitors there. I'm going on Friday and I'm sure I'll be in the Lemon Tree. Will let you all know how it goes.
I've asked them to find out about the Swedish group, so I'll post as soon as I hear xx

Hi Ayse

I hope you enjoy it the food was lovely even though we had the wee problem with the bill.

Do you know one of the waitors used to work in the Majestic a couple of years ago and even remembered my husband drank bacardi and coke when he was in there.

Tell them Lynn & Ged who they overcharged in May said hello .

Hi
Just an update on the bill that wasn't paid. They did get their money eventually but had to involve the police. Seemingly the people involved had done the same in 5 other restaurants. What a cheek.
