Erdem Cafe Bar

Postby dotty » 04 Nov 2009 20:26

This must be the busiest restaurant in Icmeler at lunchtimes, right on the beachfront with plenty of shade. The chicken kebabs are excellent, and prices very reasonable.

I discovered the Erdem about 10 years ago and it's been a regular luch venue ever since.
Excellent value and service.... and I have to agree the chicken doner wraps are delicious... as is the apple pie late afternoon with a cup of decent coffee!

They have also started doing "flight meals". So if you've not booked a meal for your flight home just ask them to pack up a couple of chicken doners! Imagine opening one of them at 35,000 feet on a plane full of people  the smell would drive everyone crazy!

This is my favorite place for lunch time snacks! Lovely Kebabs, sandwiches, Pizzas, soups, cakes etc! Really reasonably priced as well, and without a doubt the best kebab in icmeler! :) :)

Hi Folks,

This is one of our favourite lunch time venues. I believe there will be some changes this year due to the mayor forcing building laws. No nonsense service and very tasty low cost food.

Went to Erdem cafe several times as the view and sea breeze make it very pleasant. The new regulations have been circumvented by all the sea front bars putting down large platforms on top of the grass and putting tables and chairs on the platforms. It looks OK but feels a little unstable and I can imagine a few have tripped up already. Our first meal there was our first Turkish breakfast on our first morning and very pleasant - the bread had been toasted which is unusual but pleasant. We had their cheesecake a couple of days later and it is superb - the best we had in Icmeler - but the apple pie and strawberry cake didn't reach the same standard. Service was efficient and, mainly, friendly. A pleasant cafe bar.

This is the place we always go on our first day for lunch ( and actually many other days too...)! We just love the chicken döner wraps, they are really the best in Icmeler! This year we also tried many other dishes: f.ex.spaghetti bolognese: big plate, really good and was served with cheese and some bread, if I remember right, it was only 6 tl or something. Chicken Shish was also delicous, good pieces of chicken in a skewer, served with fries, rice and some salad. Costed 9 tl - really cheap! Had similar chicken Shish'es in many restaraunts but with double price! Definately recommend to try this. Service is always friendly and the atmosphere very homely.

We had egg and chips; they can't do eggs, they we dry and very hard. Also can't stand the waiter with the pseudo cockney accent. The owner never seems to smile :!:

Just returned from 2 wonderful weeks in paradise. Actually managed to get to Erdems this year, and after reading so many wonderful reviews, was really looking forward to a wonderful meal. Were we dissapointed? Totally! It was one of the worse meals that we had whilst in Icmeler, and will never be going back to Erdems again :(

Ate here a couple of times and we weren't disappointed. The meals were beautiful and very warm as they were brought to the table. The onion rings were delicious.

Waffles and syrup are a must - I cant wait to try them again next year.

We loved Erdems from the first time we went in 2004, even made a boat trip across from marmaris (the one and only time we will ever stay there) to go for lunch at Erdems.

Everything was always lovely, and the price brilliant. Loved the waiter who just goes around calling every one "Mayte".

However the last time we went in 2010 will probably be out last, service was shocking, food dry and bland, and the whole place just seemed off.

Such a shame, as we must have had 30+ meals there in the past, and one bad experience, puts you off for good (A bit like Marmaris).

I loved the Erdem until they put that decking in I think the place went downhill from then.
We even used to go after our evening meal for a cappuccino and watch the world go by.
The tables that used to be individual are now in a row like a canteen and the service doesnt seem the same any more.

Just missed the "cheers mayte" waiter
