ROSE CAFE BAR

Just returned from Icmeler and stayed at the Majestic Apartments which were lovely. We happened to come upon the Rose cafe and had a lovely Turkish meal there, you have to order if you want the set meal which we did. We thoroughly enjoyed it and it was good value. The evenings were quite chilly when we were there but I imagine in the middle of the summer the Rose would be a lovely place to go as it is so cool and shaded. Thank you Rose.

Cafe Rose is also one of our haunts. Have been going to see Guluzar (Rose) for years. It is not the usual restaurant. Basically, Guluzar opens up the garden of her house in the summer. This is well shaded and has about six tables dotted around the garden. It is the ideal place to visit during the heat of the afternoon. Her food is excellent (I think she has the best egg and chips in town, and her pancakes with ice cream and honey are to die for -not good for the weight! but what does it matter when your on holiday).

My usual treat for Guluzar every year is a couple of boxes of Maltesers. (£1 a box in Poundland) She absolutely loves them.

Well worth a visit. Can't wait till the 27th July when we can spend three and half weeks in the glorious sun.

Helen

Hi Moon - you are the opposite side of Icmeler if you stand with Tansas to your right you want to walk along quite a way and turn right and head for The Old Town. There are a few hand written signs dotted around. Sorry i am not very good at directions LOL

cafe Rose is a lovely change from the usual type of restaurants, very peaceful. Moon, if you come out the front of the Faber aprts, turn left and keep walking in a straight line along towards the old village. go past wembley bar at the crossroads, keep walking and you'll pass miami bar, then you will see signs for cafe Rose on lampposts. not far at all from Faber aparts......5 minute walk. I think Marilyn has got the location of the faber aparts mixed up with somewhere else as you wouldn't have to go near Tansas.

Visited Cafe Rose a couple of times for lunch while in Icmeler in May - love this place!

And if you like your chips - Rose's chips are the best in Turkey (hand-made and perfectly fried) LOL not very Turkish I know but well, with a reputation like that you've just GOT to try them!

It really is a wonderful place to chill out in the shade on a hot lunchtime/afternoon.

Hi
We'll be sunning ourselves silly in just 11 days. It's our 3rd trip to Icmeler, and we can't wait. I keep hearing great things about Cafe Rose, and would love to try it out. I'm just wondering whereabouts it is. Don't think I've noticed it on previous visits.
Cheers
Paul

Well, I'm Justin (as you know), Wife is Lesley and just the 1 daughter who is 15.
We get there before you lol :P

What other excursions are you doing (if any). My daughter wants to do a Jeep Safari and Water Park. I think the Horse Safari could be fun too (providing the animals are well looked after - I wouldn't go on principle if they weren't).
