Curries etc 2 - The Tandoori Sizzler Experience

Postby viking pete » 25 May 2010 19:22

Taking my role as an investigative journalist for The Icmeler Daily News very seriously - I forced myself to sample the Tandoori Sizzler last Thursday night.
Imagine my suprise when as soon as I got there I greeted with Hello you must be Viking Pete ( well I had been drinking with John the night before.)

We where looked after superbly by Hakan & Lavent throughout the night and the servce could not have been better.

After the poppadoms and pickles, we started with a selection of Onion Bhajis,Samosas and Kebabs - very fresh, light and tasty. They where not at all stodgy and very enjoyable they where too.

Now on to the Main Event ...... THE CHICKEN VINDALOO (my favourite)
I was asked if I liked it hot and spicy, which I do , and thats exactly what I got !!

Hot and Spicy without burning the throat, causing the odd bead of persperation on the forehead to appear ( thats perfect for me folks ).- a pleasure from first to last mouthfull.
It was accompanied by a light, fluffy rice and Garlic Nans as good as they come.

We finished with a Banana Fritter, always a nice bit of sweet after a good curry.

A drink was included in the meal offer so after another the bill came to 83 YTL, very good value. and a repeat visit is on the agenda when we return in September.

The moral is - If you want a hot one - ask and youll get one !!!

So to all at the Tandoori Sizzler, thanks for a super night and good luck for the rest of the season.

Pete and Maureen.

ps.. A couple of fellow guests from Vinces commented they had eaten from the Chinese menu and it was great too.

I'm glad they do a good vindaloo as like you it is my favourite meal. But is it just chicken vindaloo or do you have the option to have chicken tikka vindaloo? I just find the chicken is far more tasty marinated first.

On another note its 07:05am and you have my mouth watering :P

soz jenb, not sure where the avlu 1 is , but the Tandoori Sizzler is under the ICR offices in the main square more or less opposite the Bonjour.

Hope that helps, enjoy, Im sure you will !

Have a great holiday.

if you come out of your apartments, turn right. walk along the road and take a left down into the square where the cash machines are. you can't miss it - only a couple of mins walk.
