Someone has told me the canal is going to be paved over to make a more cosmopolitan "cafe style" area for coffee shops and market stalls - is it true?

We would like to keep this site just dealing with facts and to give people who would like to visit Icmeler as much relevant knowledge as we are able to give.

Please keep the reporting of matters that have no bearing on truth to a forum that is more suited to this kind of talk.
