Ridiculous price for a beer.

Took a walk out along the promenade towards Marmaris today & stopped in for a beer at Beach 34, a place I have frequented for many years usually to use their beach area, & ordered beers without asking/looking  at the menu. What a shock when I asked for the bill - 12 lira for a beer!!!! Thankfully we only ordered one. Did make my point to both the guy on the till (who was cheeky, dismissive & very nonchalant) as well as to the owner. Won't be going back, expected the price to be about 9 but 12 is extortionate & told them both. Guy on the till said Nirvana charges 15 lira. Just thought I would spread the word so people can choose to go there or not in the knowledge of the price. Maybe someone can beat 12 lira for a beer. :?: That's getting close to the cost of a beer at Dalaman airport.

We routinely paid 9tl for a bottle of Efes in the various restaurants we visited but as we weren't in the bars I can't comment on prices there although I did see some advertising it cheaper.

Lots of places advertise beer a lot cheaper than others but does not mean it is Efes, it could be Perge on draught or Mamara or even Venus and they all taste like gnats piss and are about as strong as too

The Turkish are still on holiday in Icmeler at the moment and 12-15 lira would be a normal price for them to pay as in the big citys where they live this is normal and in lots of other places a lot more

Beer in Benidorm or Tenerife is sold for 1 euro when it is near the end date

I did look at beer prices on the promenade inc. Brother's Cafe, Cafe Del Mar & Denis Yaka & they were 9 or 10 tl for the same view too; but heh I'm an Aberdonian. Must find out Cafe 34 beer prices if you spend time on their beach using sunbeds & umbrella, if that is 12tl I wouldn't object but simply a 'walk-in'. I bet poor Serkan didn't get that percentage of a pay rise from the owner. I wonder if he is trying to make as much money as possible this year with speculation that non of the beach cafe bars will be there next year  :(

12 lira is wee bit steep, In Wetherspoons for example its around the equvelant of about 8 lira. This year in May was paying 6 lira for bottle of Efes in Icmeler at a bar although I do believe with more tax increases this year it may now well be either 7 or 8 now. I think about 8/9 seems to be about the norm,

We came home on Saturday after having 2 glorious weeks in paradise. Cafe del Mar was 10tl bottle Efes, whilst in the centre itself prices ranged from 5tl draught, and 6 - 9 tl bottle Efes. The norm seemed to be around the 6 mark. Didn't bother me much though coz I was on the cocktails!!!!!!! :D 8)

We got caught our here too. Waited almost an hour for our lunch so ended up having 2 beers each. I know in comparison to this country its still cheep at 12 tl but for Icmeler it's a bit steep. I wouldn't mind but neither the food nor the beer were very good.

I got "stung" myself the other week but just as we left Icmeler on the beach front and had a small bottle of Efes malt at 12 lira, I won't be going back to that place

They did reduce the price of beer to 10tl, more in line with the other cafe bars, before I came home but by that time their bar was almost always empty. It was Tuborg we were drinking not Effes Kirky lol.
