so, can i please ask,

you go on the visa site, and input your details....then what, do you have to print the visa off, can you do the whole family together?

and, once you have done what you need to, what happens when you get to dalaman airport, is it straight to passport control man?

sorry if i sound stupid, xx

Hi all thanks for the replies when you do your e visa on line you have to do each member of the family individualy then follow the links then pay by card then you recieve an email which you have to verify within an hour then just print the visa off sounds confusing but it is very straightforward

I am travelling on the 28th May and cannot submit an application for May as the calender only goes up to April.
I think they have changed the rules that you can only get a visa 3 months in advance with the latest application being 24hours before departure.
So will try again later.

Thanks everyone. I have just had a look on the e-visa web site. Am I correct , payment is taken in USD ?
We fly June 4th and again late September. So hope it will cover both trips.
Will buy it closer to flying, when I've topped up on paper & ink for my printer. Grandson used most of mine over Xmas break. Little devil

Hi

We used the e-visa for the first time last June. It was a wee bit more expensive as you pay in USD. When you arrive you go start to passport control and hand over your passport with the paper copy of your visa. It was very quick and we were the first ones to the baggage reclaim area.

Although it was a bit more expensive, we did save money. As we normally go in June then back in September, we usually buy two visa a year. It tell you on the e-visa when you visa expires. You can use a visa for 180 days but you can not stay in Turkey more the 90 days. I always thought it was just for the three months.

Use this new service. Its great.

Marky-mark you must have money to burn because the visa you bought in June last year would also cover you for your Sept visit

It's priced in US dollars not sterling - $20 - so the actual cost in sterling will vary slightly depending on the exchange rate at the time of transaction. Works out roughly around £12...

Update on e-visa

Postby bobbysgirl » 30 Mar 2014 11:23

There is a report in the Holiday supplement of the Sunday Mirror stating that the e-visa which was to come into operation 0n10th April has been extended and you will be able to obtain the £10 visa on arrival at the airport until 31st December. Has any one got any info about this?

Apparently they have changed the rules and you will be able to get your visa on arrival at the airport after April 10, but it will cost you £20, not £10 - so it will still be better to get your evisa before you travel.

Definitely better to get online & less queuing time at the airport means you get to the resort quicker, in theory :)

I also read this in the newspaper. Holiday companies are still advising that you purchase your visa online. Seems the better option seeing that they have doubled the price at the airport. As in the previous post by chezza100 less time queuing at Dalaman, but the only way to get to resort quicker is a private transfer  we once spent 4 hours on a shuttle coach going round and round in Marmaris, less time spent there the better for us. Went past the same hotel 3 times, nearly got off there to get on a dolmus to Icmeler :x

It will be online visa for us & a private transfer :D

Same here -the way they keep changing things, I think the simplest solution all round is to get your evisa before you travel. As for transfers, after a similar experience to mansy on our first visit to Icmeler many years ago, it's been private transfers every time for us since then.

Thanks for the replies to my query. The article didn't say anything about doubling the price. I will be applying for an e-visa before we go.

Just got our visas, cost about £12 each, be careful before you buy that your card issuer does not charge stupid rates for non sterling transactions.

I used my virgin mastercard and was charged 12 pence per transaction but some can charge a minimum of £3 per transaction.
