I've heard from 10th april 2014 you will have to apply for e-visa ,but ive checked on official Turkish application site and it says you can still get sticker type stamp at airport until further notice,it doesn't mention any dates as yet so i'm still confused

Copied this from another site, which gives all the information:
In accordance with the Turkish Law on Foreigners and International Protection (Law no. 6458), which was published in the Official Gazette on 11 April 2013, the practice of issuing affixed/stamped visa at the border gates will finish on 10th April 2014, the date that the new law comes into force. UK nationals who require a visa to visit Turkey can only obtain this visa from the Turkish Government website www.evisa.gov.tr before their visit to Turkey. Please be aware, it has been brought to our attention that there are several websites offering Turkish visas at a higher cost than the official website and we would strongly recommend all travellers to Turkey to use only the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs website www.evisa.gov.tr to obtain their visa.

Full details of the application process and answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) can be found on the website."

i have been on the official site as detailed above and looked at the FAQ's I have copied one of the question and answers

I could get “sticker type of visa” at the airport. I don’t want to apply for e-Visa. Can I still get “sticker type of visa” at the airport? Go
Yes. The practice of “sticker type of visa” has not changed (until further notice). (Please note that citizens of China, Afghanistan and Taiwan cannot obtain “sticker type of visa’’ on arrival)

The way I read this you can still pay at the airport

It looks as though it is official, according to the Turkish Consulate, only e-visas will be accepted after the 10th April 2014.

Yes, that's what I'm led to believe from checking it out on various sites too.

I recall a similar announcement from them about the new rules for the visa relating to the 90 day rule within a 180 day period, yet it still took a while to come in. If it is enforced for 2014 though, hope we can use sterling as it would otherwise be a price hike.

At the moment Kirky the tourism they are making good money from is from every country except the UK so I don't think they care, especially with the government they have in now

UK visitors want to pay very little for holidays whereas eastern and middle European countries are willing to spend a lot more for their accommodations and do not ask prices in bars and restaurants (that is from bar and restaurant owners)

I agree John, we brits have been getting cheap holidays for too long, but its down to the holiday companies who pay too little to the hotels and apartments, we for too long relied on cheap flights till one by one the cheap flight agents went bust, leaving now a few flight operators who are putting there prices up to a level that makes some profit, trouble is these are the same operators that sell package holidays,so now its becoming less likely you can book you flights and accommodation seperately and get the times of flights and length of stay exactly how you want it without paying over the top We are in a lucky position in so much as we are a retired couple who can pick and choose what flights , accommodation, transfers and stay time suits us, it must be very difficult and expensive to fit holidays for a family in to school holidays, and know your going to pay top dollar for it.Rog.

As long as it is still valid on the date you return home the second time, it will do both trips.
