A Close Shave

Postby Zog » 27 Apr 2005 10:55

Nothing about Turkey is ordinary, including the shaves, its the guys chance to sit back and be pampered for a while while the girls take photo's :) Beware tho, shop around. The barber in the underground market beside the Bella Mare Hotel quoted "couple of quid" to me and my m8 for a shave, then he tried all ways to cut our hair, sell us products etc. After we were shaved he then demanded £10 each from us. He got a fiver for the two of us and a lesson in some quaint olde englishe sayings :?

Hi zog,
For some unknown reason every time I walk past an hairdressers shop in Turkey they seem to want to set my nose and ears on fire.
Always the nose and ears.

We have just returned from Icmeler, my husband and brother in law and son all went for a shave at a barbers down the little walkway by the chilli bar, great service really cheap, they massaged their hands and shoulders, didn't try to sell them anything extra, all for £2 so they went back they day before we came home for another, trouble was they felt sooo relaxed they wanted to sleep.

Daisy barbers under the Black Sea restaurant is the one I always use and can reccomend it without exception.

Strange, this is the barbers that ripped off my father in law. He went in for a haircut and shave {advertised outside at £8] but ended up paying nearly £20. Having been ripped off myself in the past i always agree a price for what i want before they start.
